Like the title says, there are five important things you need to know today about about upcoming concerts in the Twin Cities:
1. The weather is finally cooling down, which means that we're heading into perfect weather for outdoor concerts around town - so long as this weather streak holds. I love it!
2. I'm really hoping that a Taylor Swift schedule is released soon for her tour. I mean, I don't actually KNOW if she's going to tour, but I'm kind of guessing that a tour is going to come around sometime soon, dontcha think?
3. Kind of related to concert news, but kind of not: the US Olympic Gymnastics team will be touring with the National Gymnastics tour in the fall. After all of the hype surrounding the Olympics and the fab five this year, this is something I am NOT going to miss (plus my little girls are going to LOVE it!)
4. I'm thinking about hitting up the Trans-Siberian Orchestra show this holiday season. I've been once before - a loooong time ago. Usually my family likes to go to a Christmas-themed-show each season and this seems like it would be fun to go to this year!
5. The Minnesota State Fair is almost here. We're sitting just TWO weeks away from the start of a spectacular series of concerts that you're not going to want to miss. Want to check something out? I have a full concert schedule for you below:

Bruce Springsteen tickets rock my world
The Boss is coming to town. THE BOSS IS COMING TO TOWN. I know, I know - he tours almost every year. But I love Bruce Springsteen. I even love the country song ABOUT Bruce Springsteen. No, I didn't grow up in "his generation", but I still love the guy. His music is universal and his concerts are so much fun, I go with my mom every time he comes to town! Are you a Springsteen fan? Bruce Springsteen tickets go on sale Saturday and I'm definitely going to have to get my paws on some!
I was starting to get a little worried that there weren't going to be any *great* concerts this fall. It seems like there've been some really good concerts this summer, but the listings for the fall just weren't really coming through - until now. All of a sudden there are a ton of great bands announcing fall tours. If Taylor Swift went on tour this fall, my concert loving self would be so content I don't think I'd know what to do with myself!
What are your top fall concerts this year??

Zac Brown Band is coming to Minnesota
Oh yeah, it is official: the Zac Brown Band schedule has been released and these hottie patotties are coming to the Target Center this fall. I am SO excited: I absolutely love these guys! Ever since they played at the Grammy's a few years ago, I've been hooked. And so has my mom - and with my parents having a big anniversary this fall, I might just have to get them some tickets to go see these guys live in concert! My top THREE favorite ZBB songs - in order, of course!
3. Knee Deep
2. Free
1. Whatever it is
Actually for the last one, my hubby used to email me the music video when we were dating while I was at work because he said that it reminded him of me. Awe, I heart this guy! And in light of that...let me just share that music video with ya'll today:

Top Ten Things I Love About the Minnesota State Fair
Ok - I'm a big fan of the state fair. Which you should be able to see through all of the posts I make relating to the CONCERTS at the state fair. But in reality, here are my top ten reasons why I love everything about the Fair - from the concerts to the rest of the stuff. Enjoy!
1. I personally thing the Minnesota Grandstand is an awesome venue for outdoor concerts. At least better than any other outdoor venue in town!
2. I love cheese curds.
3. The people watching is the best. There's no other place where you can see Johnny Farmer in his overalls, Mikey Metro in his puma shoes and Lacoste shirt and grown men dressed up in KISS costumes at the same time.
4. The corn on the cob is amazing.
5. I love the midway - even IF some of the rides are uber creeptastic.
6. Sweet Martha's cookies will get me any day.
7. I love the big slide. And watching the little kids slide down for the first time!
8. P-R-O-N-T-O P-U-P-S
9. Machinery Hill. I have pictures of me and my bestie on tractors out there at three years old!
10. Deep fried candy bars. DUH.

Madonna Tickets and the MDNA CD
If you're an eighties fan like I am, then you're obviously a fan of Madonna. She's like the 80's girl legend, ranking right up there with the Breakfast Club movies and permed hair. But what you may not realize is that she's coming to TOWN this fall - she'll be at the Target Center in October! Obviously this is a MUST GO TO show. In fact, I've already gotten my Madonna tickets - I was afraid they would sell out! Regardless, if you aren't going to be in town or can't shell out the money, I have another Madonna related task for you: Like PerfectTix on Facebook. They're a local ticket broker and they're going to be giving away FREE copies of her new CD, MDNA, over the next 2 weeks on their Facebook page - score!

Brothers of the Sun Tickets: It's this weekend!
Are you as excited as I am for the first EVER concert at Target Field? On Sunday, as in THIS WEEKEND, Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw take the field to put on the show of the summer. I have no idea what to expect, I just know that this is a show I'm really excited to go see. I'm going to be in the sand bar - the spot (on the field) that's being turned into an actual beach - awesome!
Check out a video of their show in Dallas - if this doesn't convince you that you need to get your hands on some Kenny Chesney tickets, I don't know what will!

KISS Tickets at the Minnesota State Fair Grandstand
Did you know that KISS Is coming to the State Fair this summer? I got my KISS Tickets already. And even though they're not my FAVORITE band, I am still super excited to see this band live and in concert. Their music is classic and the people watching will be superb. Plus they are known to put on a great show for their fans! Don't believe me? Check out this video:

Just added to the State Fair Grandstand Schedule
Now that summertime seems to be heating up, the State Fair Grandstand schedule seems to be filling up as well! No matter what show you decide to go to, Minnesota Grandstand tickets are always a super hot commodity due to the short time period there are actually bands there during the year - and due to the popularity of the Minnesota State Fair. Did you know that it's the third most visited fair in the nation based on attendance? That's HUGE! The most recent addition was the MN Music on a Stick presented by 89.3 The Current. This show takes the stage at the Minnesota State Fair Grandstand on Friday, August 31st and is going to feature some of the biggest names to come out of the Minnesota Music Scene. Topping the list of this hot summer concert is Semisonic, Jeremy Messersmith and The Jayhawks. This is for sure going to be a great concert! Even if you don't LOVE all of the bands that will be part of this show, you'll for sure have a blast. Don't believe me? Check out some of their videos below...

Added to the Minnesota State Fair Grandstand schedule: Blake Shelton and Demi Lovato
Newly added to this year's Minnesota State Fair Grandstand schedule: Blake Shelton and Demi Lovato. Not together, come on guys. Do you really think these two acts would be taking the stage at the same time? Of course not. Here's the dish:
Blake Shelton will be on stage on Saturday August 25th at 7:30 PM.
Demi Lovato will be coming to the State Fair with Hot Chelle Rae on Tuesday August 28th at 7:30.
Maybe Blake will bring his lovely leading lady aka wife aka country star Miranda Lambert along with him! That would seriously make this girl happy. I absolutely love both of them, but what an awesome concert that would be if they took the stage TOGETHER. Definitely worth getting some Minnesota Grandstand tickets for this coming August!

Brothers of the Sun Tickets: Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw at Target Field
Have you gotten your tickets to the concert of the summer yet? Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney are teaming up for the Brothers of the Sun tour - and it's coming to Target Field. I've heard awesome things about this concert. Apparently they're planning on turning the field into a total beach - complete with people wearing swimsuits and everything. If you've ever been to a Kenny Chesney concert before, you know that he puts on a good show. There's usually a fun kind of beachy theme to go along with his music that keeps people coming back every time he tours. There are a ton of dates on the Brothers of the Sun schedule and these guys will be playing in Minneapolis on July 8th for the first concert EVER held at Target Field. I already bought my Brothers of the Sun tickets - it's going to be a historic event!

Minnesota State Fair Concerts: Amateur Night
Did you know that the Minnesota State Fair hosts an annual local talent competition during the Fair? They do. Usually it's at one of the smaller stages, but this year it's scheduled to be held at the State Fair Grandstand - quite a venue for these amateur acts! It actually would be a fun show to go to. I think it's free, and you could see the next big star to come out of Minnesota! Or at least have fun pretending to be an American Idol judge. It's going to be held Sunday, September 2nd at 8PM. So if you don't want to check out any of the other amazing Minnesota State Fair concerts that will be taking place at the Grandstand this year (or if you're just looking to save a little money), this is a great one to check out!
Don't believe me that this will be a good show? Check out an awesome previous act:

Minneapolis Teens Want Justin Bieber Tickets
Justin Bieber is officially going on tour. And OFFICIALLY coming to the Twin Cities on Saturday, October 20th at the Target Center. You know that this show is going to be FILLED with screaming girls who want to be Bieber's girlfriend. SPeaking of which, apparently Bieber and long time girlfriend Selena Gomez recently broke up. Annnnd he's touring with Carly Rae Jepsen (of Call Me Maybe fame). Anyway, you know you'll love going to this show just because it's going to bring you back to your N*Sync and Backstreet Boys days. Or you know, your New Kids on the Block days if that was more your thing. To my own suprise, I can even name some of the Bieber fever song set:
1. Boyfriend (his newest song that starts out with a Ying Yang twins-esque rap)
2. Baby
3. Never Say Never
...and the only reason I know those off the top of my head is because they were played on the radio this morning when I heard about the concert. Regardless, they're catchy and are now stuck in my head. If you have a tweeny-teeny-bopper in your life, you know they're going to go crazy for Justin Bieber tickets. Your best bet is to bite the bullet now and secure the best seats on the market before they disappear - Bieber will sell out. I just know it.

Eric Church is TONIGHT!
Oh boy, ladies and gents. If you're a country music fan, then you probably already know that Eric Church will be taking the stage at the Target Center tonight for a once in a lifetime concert. I absolutely love this guy. Favorite songs that he sings are:
1. Hell on the Heart
2. Homeboy
3. Springsteen
I melt every time I hear Springsteen on the radio, to be honest. Obviously if you're a country music fan, you're heading to this concert. If you don't HAVE your Eric Church Tickets yet, then you probably should start looking at some...the show is in just a few hours!! And if you're sitting on the fence about whether or not you should be buying tickets for tonight's show...let this video swing your vote to YES:

Minnesota State Fair Grandstand
New shows have been added to the State Fair schedule! Check this out:
1. Pat Benetar and Journey are playing on September 1st at the Grandstand
2. Anita Baker will take the stage at the Grandstand on August 26th
3. Annnd suprise of all suprises, Rap/R&B artist Wiz Kalifa will be on the stage at the Grandstand on September 3rd.
Interesting shows, and of the three I'm thinking that the odd child (Kalifa) will be the big seller. To be honest, you would never expect to see this kind of act at the Fair, but it'll draw in interesting crowd to the fair, that's for sure. And to be honest...that might be a GREAT day for people watching at the Minnesota Get Together.

Wicked Tickets for the Musical Theater Lover in Your Life
Okay okay okay. I know that it's technically not a concert. It's a play. But that doesn't mean that you can't get a little Broadway musical in your life! Especially when it's something as popular as the musical Wicked. Created in 2003, this awesome performance is the predecessor to The Wizard of Oz. It focuses around the relationship of two half sisters, Elphaba and Glenda. The original production actually featured Broadway greats Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth in these two roles, respectively. Now generally, I don't go to musicals. At least, I don't generally go to the musicals that my parents would generally choose to go to. To be honest, I like funny features like Legally Blonde more than Evita. But this show is amazing. I'm so happy that my parents got me Wicked tickets for my birthday and absolutely insisted that I go see this show stopping performance. It gave me a much stronger appreciation for the theater.

Zac Brown Band Tickets
If you're as big of a country fan as I am, which I'm guessing you are, then you've got to be excited about the Zac Brown Band. Seriously, with the way that country music can seamlessly float into the pop music stations nowadays, it's not the twangy stuff from our parents generation. Zac Brown Band is one of my favorite. I love their music, I love that they play multiple instruments: from mandolin to guitar to fiddle to percussion, it gives their music such a unique sound. I love them so much that I even love Zac Brown's beard, and usually I am not a fan of beards on men. A little stubble is good. Full blown mountain man is not so much.
Anyway - if you didn't get to see these guys when they were in town last fall, then you still have a chance. The Zac Brown Band is playing at Summerfest in Milwaukee this year and great Zac Brown Band tickets are still available. Trust me, you won't regret road tripping to see these guys play live AND outside. It'll be the concert of your summer.

One Direction tickets for the Target Center
If you haven't heard of British pop sensation One Direction - or at least heard their songs on the radio - then you must be living under a rock. This teen sensation is taking the US by storm - even though they've only had one or two songs on the radio. Their tour next winter has completely sold out. So now, they're planning out dates for NEXT summer. As in, the summer of 2013. Who do these guys think they are, U2? I don't know of many bands besides HUGE acts like Taylor Swift that would dare put their tickets on sale more than six months before a concert date - let alone way more than a year. Interesting. So what happens if your tween loves One Direction today, but isn't so much of a superfan in a year? Things can change that fast on the tween pop music scene, you know! But if your kid is in total love with these British hotties, then you should probably get your hands on some One Direction tickets - if nothing else, they'll make for GREAT Christmas presents.

Rascal Flatts Coming to the Minnesota State Fair
It's official: Rascal Flatts are coming to the Minnesota State Fair on August 30th! They're bringing along Little Big Town and the Eli Young Band. It's surprising that Rascall Flatts is coming to the State Fair: usually they play HUGE stadiums that they sell out. Which means the competition for Rascal Flatts tickets is going to be unbelievable - seriously. You're going to have to battle it out to get some seats, man! Regardless - I'm SO excited, and I will definitely be standing in line at the Fair when the tickets to see these awesome bands OUTSIDE go on sale! Love it!

Bonnie Raitt Tickets
Hey there Minnesota State Fair concert fans! I have a new one on the Grandstand schedule for you: Bonnie Raitt will be coming to the Minnesota State Fair on August 23rd! This is awesome - she's such a legend on the country music scene, I just know that this is a Grandstand concert that will for sure sell out (don't they all, generally??). So basically you just need to keep your eyes peeled for some Bonnie Raitt tickets. You know you want to check her out and hear your favorite songs like "Something to Talk About" and "I Can't Make You Love Me" live and in-person - I know I'm excited!

Minnesota Summer Concerts: I'm Getting Excited
One of the best things about summertime is all of the great concerts that come to the Twin Cities. The winter blahs scare most artists away from touring in this frigid state during the winter, but during the summer: it's on. And that gets me so excited! Summer beaches, summer tans, SUMMER CONCERTS! And one of the shows that I just can't WAIT to see is Madonna. I mean, it's been years upon years since she's graced the Twin Cities with her presence. This show is going to be so fantastic. I can't wait to hear her sing all the songs I grew up dancing to: "Vogue", "Material Girl" and "Like A Prayer". I got my Minnesota Madonna tickets ages ago, but if you want good seats you'd better get yours soon, too! Best.Show.Of.The.Year. I am totally pumped.

The State Fair Grandstand is one of the hottest venues to check out for a summertime concert, and tickets are starting to become available for the shows. Check out Alan Jackson OR KISS this August. Make a whole day affair of your concert-going! Check out the Midway, grab a pronto pup and some mini donuts and finish off the day with awesome Minnesota State Fair Grandstand tickets. Great sunshine, great food, great music. Nothing could be better!

I'm Your Twin Cities Music Geek
Why am I your best source for awesome music scene news in the Twin Cities? Because I love music and I live here. And I go to a lot of shows. And I'm awesome. That's why. I love live music, from local bands playing in local bars to alternative rockers at First Ave to country shows at the Xcel Energy Center. Basically, if it's live music, I want a ticket. I'll post all about my favorite things on the Twin Cities music scene over the coming months, don't miss a single post!
